While Joel Embiid is not yet a household name he soon will be. He is one of the most dominant players in the NBA and recently has signed a contract to show that ($146.5 Million). However rather than flaunt off his new contract or go buy something big and new he has the heart to give back to his native Cameroon. Embiid Realizes that his home in Cameroon is in a poverty stricken area and wants to help as many as he can and has been adamant on helping others. Embiid is even well thanked and respected in Philly as he was debating basketball after his late brothers death a few years ago. He however continued his goal to play in the NBA and help his family and those in his native Country. I think players such as Embiid inspire me because they put an entire country or region on their back and fight to help their home. Other significant athletes from Cameroon include Samuel Etto a famous soccer player. Embiid is a rising star and helping Cameroon to rise from a poverty stricken state.
