Tony Hawk devised a creative way to help raise money for the skating community. He teamed up with famous musicians and asked them to write song lyrics on skateboards and then send them back to him. These skateboards belonged to him and fellow professional skaters and then these boards were sold at auction for hefty prices to help build skateparks across the country. Tony Hawk used his platform to not only raise money but also pull in fellow professional skaters and even famous musicians in on this opportunity to give back to the community. Tony really did make the most of this opportunity by affecting his skating community and empowering other celebrities on giving back too.
